Vietnam becomes second-favorite destination for S.Koreans: KTO

KTO reported that 2.34 million South Koreans traveled abroad for tourism that month.

Japan remained the top choice, welcoming approximately 951,000 South Korean visitors, or 40.6 percent of the total.

Vietnam ranked second with 278,000 visitors, followed by the U.S. with 100,000, Taiwan with 79,000, Thailand with 64,000, the Philippines with 61,000, and Hong Kong with 59,000.

Vietnam’s appeal lies in its beach and island destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Phan Thiet, and Da Nang, which are popular for family vacations and leisure trips.

The country’s proximity, affordable costs, and expanding flight connections make it an increasingly attractive option for South Korean travelers.

The presence of South Korean celebrities vacationing in Vietnam has also boosted the Southeast Asian country’s image among fans back home, further strengthening its position as a favored destination.

Vietnam is expected to remain one of the top choices for South Koreans, thanks to its diverse offerings and competitive advantages compared with other regional destinations.
