The waterfalls, named So Roach and Ho Kook by local residents, are located in Kon Plong Commune, about 30km from the Mang Den National Eco-Tourism Area.
A recent field survey conducted by the commune government confirmed their natural beauty and tourism potential.
The old Kon Tum Province housed Kon Plong Commune before being merged into Quang Ngai under a recent administrative reorganization.

So Roach waterfall, situated roughly 2km from the nearest inhabited village and the Truong Son Dong road, is about five to six meters tall and surrounded by moss-covered rocks and a wide natural pool.
Ho Kook waterfall, located 2.5km from the same road, lies within the Thach Nham protection forest.
It is approximately 10 meters tall, with a deep pool at its base and a smaller adjacent cascade.
The area is less accessible due to steep and slippery terrain, officials said.

“These sites have been only known by locals for years,” said Dang Dinh Toan, deputy chairman of Kon Plong Commune.
“After receiving reports about their potential, we organized a field visit.
“Both locations show clear promise for tourism development.”

He added that the commune plans to survey additional sites in the area.
However, any future development would be subject to legal and environmental assessments.

The two waterfalls fall within the boundaries of the Mang Den tourism development zone, a 90,000-hectare area approved under the provincial tourism master plan extending to 2045.
With planned infrastructure upgrades, including the Quang Ngai–Kon Tum expressway, an airport in Mang Den, and the expansion of National Highway 24, authorities expect the region, alongside Ly Son Island, to become a key driver of tourism growth in the newly restructured Quang Ngai Province.
