Vietnam dominate Sofascore’s best XI for 2026 ASEAN Cup semifinal second legs

The seven Vietnamese players are center-back Doan Van Hau, defenders Truong Tien Anh and Nguyen Van Vi, midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc, and forwards Nguyen Hai Long, Nguyen Xuan Son, and Nguyen Dinh Bac.

The remaining four places went to goalkeeper Azri Ghani of Malaysia, Malaysian defender Ubaidullah Shamsul, Singaporean defender Irfan Fandi Ahmad, and midfielder Kakana Khamyok of Thailand.

Sofascore selected the highest-rated 11 players from the two semifinal second legs in a 3-4-3 formation.

Vietnam’s overwhelming presence in the best XI resulted from their convincing 2-0 victory over Malaysia to secure their place in the final on a 4-0 aggregate triumph.

Thailand, meanwhile, have only one representative as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Singapore in the second leg.

Despite conceding twice against Vietnam, Malaysia goalkeeper Ghani earned his place after producing a series of impressive saves.

Shamsul was similarly rewarded for a courageous defensive display as Malaysia’s back line battled against sustained pressure from Vietnam.

Despite playing just 18 minutes, the Singaporean defender earned a 7.2 Sofascore rating and was named in the best XI.
