Huong, vice-chairwoman of Vingroup (VIC) and wife of Vietnam’s wealthiest individual Pham Nhat Vuong, has a net worth of US$2.2 billion, according to the latest Forbes data.
Her younger sister, Hang, who also serves as vice-chairwoman of Vingroup, has entered the global billionaire list with a net worth of $1.5 billion.
The surge in wealth of the two sisters comes amid a sharp rise in Vingroup’s stock price.
In 2025, VIC shares soared by 736.5 percent, pushing up Vingroup’s market capitalization to more than VND1.33 quadrillion ($51 billion) and placing it at the top of the Vietnamese stock market by value.
The total market capitalization of the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) reached some VND8.35 quadrillion ($321 billion) at the end of 2025, meaning VIC alone accounted for nearly one-sixth of the entire market.
Other Vingroup-related stocks also recorded strong gains.
VHM ranked fourth by market capitalization after rising 210 percent over the year, while Vincom Retail (VRE) placed 20th with a 96.2 percent spike.
The third new billionaire is Dung, chairman of VPBank, with a net worth of $1.1 billion.
With the addition of these three individuals, Vietnam now has eight U.S. dollar billionaires, with Vuong remaining the country’s richest person, whose net worth is $21.2 billion.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, chairwoman of Vietjet Air, ranks second with $4.1 billion.
Other Vietnamese billionaires include Tran Dinh Long, chairman of Hoa Phat Group, Ho Hung Anh, chairman of Techcombank and Nguyen Dang Quang, chairman of Masan Group.
Forbes estimates the wealth of global billionaires using a range of methodologies, including corporate financial statements, shareholder records, stock market and real estate data, legal documents, interviews with business leaders, and other reliable public sources.
