Vietnam housing conditions improve over past decade: official data
Housing conditions in Vietnam improved significantly between 2014 and 2024, with average living space and structural quality both rising, according to new data released by the General Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance.
Average housing space per person increased steadily over the period, reaching 29 square meters in 2024, up 1.2 square meters from 2023 and 7.6 square meters from 2014.
The proportion of households living in permanent or semi-permanent structures rose to 97.7 percent in 2024, an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous year.
