The report is based on Agoda's global accommodation search data and cites figures from UN Tourism.
According to Agoda, the country’s tourism growth was driven by a combination of favorable government policies and infrastructure improvements.
The platform noted that Vietnam expanded its visa exemption program in 2025, extended visa-free stays to 45 days for citizens of many markets, and introduced a 90-day multiple-entry e-visa, making travel to the country more convenient for international visitors.
Infrastructure upgrades have also contributed to the tourism boom. Improvements at airports and the expansion of accommodation capacity in destinations such as Da Nang, Sa Pa, and Phu Quoc have strengthened the country's ability to welcome more visitors.
Vietnam's international aviation network has also expanded significantly, with more than a dozen new or restored international air routes launched in 2025, improving connectivity with key markets including India, Northeast Asia, and Europe.
Agoda's search data showed that South Korea remained Vietnam's largest source market on the platform, with accommodation searches increasing 28 percent in 2025.
Searches from ASEAN markets grew even faster. The Philippines recorded a 129-percent increase, moving from 10th to sixth among Vietnam's source markets on Agoda.
India saw searches climb 112 percent, while Malaysia posted a 68-percent increase.
Among long-haul markets, accommodation searches from France surged 217 percent and those from Germany rose 120 percent. The United States remained among the top 10 source markets for Vietnam on the platform.
Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc remained the five most-searched destinations.
Among them, searches for Da Nang increased 25 percent, Ho Chi Minh City 26 percent, Hanoi 23 percent, and Phu Quoc recorded the strongest growth at 49 percent, reflecting rising demand for beach and island vacations.
Agoda also said digital platforms and social media channels such as TikTok are helping raise awareness of emerging destinations across Vietnam, enabling locations beyond the country's traditional tourism hubs to attract more international visitors.
