With these results, Vietnam ranked among the top five strongest national teams at this year’s competition.
The gold medal was awarded to Do Hai Long, a student at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, in the category of MOS Word 365 Apps.
Long first participated in the competition in grade 11 and placed third nationally in the MOS Word 2016 category.
Over four years of dedication and training, with three competition attempts, he has now achieved the highest honor.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Long shared that the gold medal was the result of tireless effort and has become a powerful motivation for him to continue striving forward.
The bronze medal went to Luong Son Tung, a student from Foreign Trade University, in the MOS Excel 365 Apps category.
In addition to Long and Tung, other Vietnamese contestants also placed in the world’s top 10: Vuong Thu Huong from the Vietnam Maritime University (Top 5 in MOS Word 2019), Nguyen Minh Duc from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Top 7 in MOS PowerPoint 2019), Nghiem Thi My Linh from the Vietnam Maritime University (Top 9 in MOS Excel 2019), and Nguyen Thai Son from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in northern Ninh Binh Province (Top 10 in MOS PowerPoint 365 Apps).

Doan Nguyen Van Khanh, director general of IIG Vietnam, the national co-organizer of the competition, shared that this year’s Vietnamese team was exceptionally strong, comprising the most outstanding students selected from thousands of young IT talents across the country.
Many of the contestants were returning competitors, participating for their second or even third time.
Thanks to their accumulated knowledge, experience, and the preparation support provided by the organizers ahead of the world finals, the contestants entered the global stage with confidence and demonstrated strong skills against participants from other countries and territories.
With the conclusion of the 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship, Vietnam's medal tally at the global competition now stands at 23, including five golds, four silvers, 14 bronzes, along with numerous other top 10 finishes.
