A dashcam video shows a Vietnamese taxi driver transporting his five-year-old daughter as a South Korean passenger discovered her in the back seat and later gave her a small cash gift before leaving the vehicle in Bac Ninh Province, northern Vietnam, April 20, 2026.
The footage, recorded on April 20, shows the passenger discovering a young child seated quietly in the back of the car during a trip from Hanoi to the VSIP Bac Ninh industrial park in neighboring Bac Ninh Province.
The passenger greeted the child in Korean, prompting the girl to wave and respond politely in Vietnamese with "Con chao bac" (Hello, uncle), according to the video shared on social media.
The driver, Dang Van Dan, 33, from Tuyen Quang Province, confirmed he was the driver in the clip and said several South Korean broadcasters had contacted him to request permission to use the footage.
Dan said he had started the trip at 6:40 am to ensure the passenger arrived at work by 8:00 am.
"At that time, my child had not yet gone to school and my wife had already left for work, so there was no one to look after her," he said.
Before picking up the passenger, Dan instructed his daughter to remain quiet during the ride, and she complied for most of the journey.
The passenger only noticed the child at around 7:50 am, after hearing a sound from the back seat, Dan said.

Screenshots from a KBS television broadcast show coverage of a Vietnamese taxi driver whose dashcam video featuring his five-year-old daughter's interaction with a South Korean passenger drew attention in South Korea.
Dan said he was initially concerned the passenger might object, but the man reacted positively and gave the child a small cash gift before leaving the vehicle.
After the video gained attention, Dan said he contacted the passenger, who had returned to South Korea and expressed no discomfort about the situation.
Dan said he and his wife had moved to Hanoi for work and currently rent accommodation in Long Bien area.
His wife works fixed hours at Sai Dong Industrial Park, while he works as a driver with flexible hours to help care for their child.
He said he sometimes has to bring his daughter along on early trips when no childcare is available.
The couple are also paying monthly installments on their seven-seater car, he added.
