Vietnam to organize military parade, march for National Day celebrations in September

Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense, in coordination with relevant agencies, is preparing to organize a parade and march at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the National Day on September 2.

The ministry will have to submit a plan for the parade and march to the central steering committee for the commemoration of major national holidays and important historical events of the country in 2023–25 and the Party Central Committee's Secretariat within this month.

The Government Office has issued a document to ministries, municipal and provincial people's committee chairpersons, and relevant agencies regarding the preparations for activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day (September 2).

The Hanoi People's Committee is responsible for coordinating with various ministries and agencies to organize the ceremony, parade, and march.

The city has been asked to urgently develop a comprehensive plan for commemorative activities.

It will also compile a list of incumbent and former Party and state leaders, domestic delegates and guests, and design an invitation template and submit it to the Central Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilization for appraisal in June.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will join hands with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Hanoi People's Committee, and relevant agencies to develop the master script for the anniversary ceremony, military parade, and mass procession, and submit it by June.

They also take responsibility for preparing special artistic programs, developing an information and communications plan for the commemoration, and carrying out related tasks.

The Ministry of Public Security will be in charge of coordinating with the Hanoi authorities and relevant agencies to develop a detailed plan to ensure security and safety for incumbent and former Party and state leaders, delegates, and the public attending the anniversary ceremony and commemorative activities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been assigned to work with relevant agencies to draw up a plan for diplomatic delegations and heads of international organizations in Hanoi to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Monument for Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street.

It has also been tasked with planning to invite international guests and foreign press to attend the anniversary ceremony.

The Ministry of Health will cooperate with the Hanoi government and relevant agencies to ensure appropriate healthcare services.

Vietnam Television will prepare for the live broadcasting of the anniversary ceremony, military parade, and mass procession, including live satellite links, special artistic performances, and other commemorative activities.

The Voice of Vietnam has been tasked with organizing live radio broadcasts of the anniversary ceremony, military parade, and mass procession, and providing news coverage of commemorative activities.

The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences will develop a plan and effectively organize a national-level scientific conference.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has been required to coordinate with other agencies to develop a plan for launching a patriotic emulation movement and provide specific guidance on emulation and commendation work.
