The victory marks Vietnam’s second gold medal at the tournament and the second for its beach athletics team, following Ha Thi Thuy Hang’s win in the women’s long jump a day earlier.

Vietnam also added more medals on Saturday. The women’s dragon boat team secured bronze in the 200-meter event, while swimmer Vo Thi My Tien finished third in the women's five-kilometer final of open water swimming.

So far, the Vietnamese delegation has collected two golds, one silver, and two bronzes.

The team, comprising 90 members, is competing in 26 events across eight sports, including beach athletics, beach wrestling, beach handball, jujitsu, dragon boat, swimming, sailing, and teqball.

The 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 takes place from April 22 to 30, bringing together athletes from 45 countries and regions.
