Meeting with RoK Ambassador Ha Chan Ho on Monday, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his hope that the two countries will boost bilateral cooperation, including raising two-way trade.

In talking with the out-going ambassador in Hanoi on June 3, the PM said that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting cooperative ties with the RoK and that the relations between the two countries have been upgraded to a strategic partnership.

The PM added that Vietnam and the RoK have cultural similarities and abundant cooperation potential, which are conditions for the two countries to strengthen their all-around ties.

Dung also affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always creates favorable conditions for RoK investors to do business in Vietnam.

He asked the RoK to continue granting ODA to Vietnam’s projects in the fields of transport infrastructure, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation.

He also suggested that the RoK assist Vietnam in setting up high-tech application centers and closely coordinate with Vietnam in resolving issues relevant to bilateral labor cooperation.

In reply, Ambassador Ha Chan Ho said he believed that the economic, trade and investment ties between the RoK and Vietnam will continue to develop well in the future.

The two countries should promote bilateral cooperation in such fields as science and technology, education and training, labor, and tourism, the Korean diplomat said.
