Warsaw, the capital of Poland, came alive with the vibrant colors, flavors, and rhythms of Vietnam on Sunday (local time) as the Vietnamese Tourism and Culture Festival opened, featuring art performances and iconic Vietnamese dishes such as ‘pho,’ ‘nem ran’ (fried spring rolls), and iced coffee.

The event was part of a European working trip led by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to promote cultural diplomacy and stimulate tourism from key European markets, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.

The fest drew large crowds eager to experience the tastes and traditions of the Southeast Asian nation.

The food pavilion was a highlight of the event, with long lines of visitors sampling traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

In addition to food, revelers were treated to a series of live art performances by Vietnamese artists, showcasing traditional music and dance.

The festival also included a dedicated Vietnam tourism promotion space, featuring video presentations of scenic destinations, booths distributing travel brochures and souvenirs, and various games with appealing prizes such as round-trip tickets to Vietnam and all-inclusive travel packages.

Also, visitors were attracted by Vietnamese agricultural products and services presented by Vietnamese travel firms, according to the authority.

The event effectively conveyed the image of a friendly and culturally rich Vietnam to the Polish public.

Tran Thi Hoai Tram, director of the Hue City Department of Tourism, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday that Hue would actively reach out to European markets, including Poland, through targeted promotional campaigns and partnerships with leading travel firms in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to boost Hue's tourism.

The city will also offer various tour packages to draw Polish travelers.

Poland emerges as growing market for Vietnamese tourism

Between January and May, Vietnam welcomed some 37,000 Polish visitors, a 44.5-percent year-on-year increase, making Poland the former’s sixth-largest European source market.

In 2023, 34,000 Polish tourists traveled to Vietnam, reaching 98 percent of the pre-pandemic level in 2019.

The Southeast Asian nation served over 51,000 tourists from Poland in 2024, up 25 percent from 2019.

In 2024, Polish citizens made some 14.6 million international trips, with total overseas travel spending reaching US$10.4 billion.

Apart from their traditional European destinations, they have shown strong interest in Asia.

Vietnam’s recent visa exemption policy under the government’s Resolution 11, effective from March 1 to December 31, 2025, is expected to enhance its appeal to Polish tourists.
