Vietnamese dental group achieves AACI quality accreditation of US

A testament to success

After nearly a year of preparation, from December 2024 to August 2025, Elite Dental underwent a rigorous evaluation process, ranging from project signing, process standardization, and evidence review to pre-assessment and final evaluation.

As a result, the system achieved a score of 95.33 out of 100, ranking at the forefront in Asia in comparison with several countries with advanced dental systems such as Thailand and Japan.

With the AACI certification, Elite Dental has become the first dental system in Vietnam to obtain this international recognition. 

This milestone reflects Elite's unwavering strategy over the past 13 years -- cultivating a patient-centered quality management culture, ensuring data transparency, enforcing risk control, and driving continuous improvement.

AACI - a rigorous international healthcare accreditation standard

In the global healthcare landscape, accreditation by independent organizations serves as a crucial mechanism for medical institutions to demonstrate safety and treatment quality. 

For patients, accreditation ensures that every step of the care process from sterilization, diagnosis, and procedures to emergency response is conducted according to clearly defined protocols, guaranteeing both safety and consistency.

Among international organizations, AACI is recognized as one of the leading accreditation systems. 

Its standards are developed based on ISO 9001:2015, with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), and further integrated with requirements from CMS/Medicare (United States) ensuring both global best practices and compliance with U.S. regulatory frameworks.

What distinguishes AACI is that it is not merely a collection of isolated standards but is structured as a comprehensive accreditation framework. 

This design enables healthcare institutions not only to 'achieve the standards' at the time of evaluation but also to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, which is a core element for sustaining long-term quality.

In Vietnam, alongside familiar standards such as ISO and the Ministry of Health's Hospital Quality Criteria, attaining AACI accreditation carries significant meaning: it confirms that Vietnamese healthcare providers are capable of meeting the world's most demanding quality and safety benchmarks.

According to experts, this achievement is not only recognition of a specific institution but also an opportunity for Vietnam's dental industry to enhance its regional reputation, attract international patients, and lay the foundation for a global standard healthcare model.

In contrast to general accreditation frameworks applied to multi-specialty hospitals, AACI offers a specialized version tailored for dental facilities. 

Its latest edition (Version 2.1, updated in 2021) comprises 52 standards, focusing on three domains: governance, clinical practices, and infrastructure.

Many of these standards address dentistry specific aspects, such as instrument sterilization control, radiation safety in X-ray imaging, management of dental records and clinical photographs, emergency response protocols at the clinic, and equipment management ranging from dental handpieces to sterilization systems.

This high level of specialization has earned AACI strong recognition for its practical applicability and its ability to create a distinctive impact on the quality of dental care.
