The exhibition, titled ‘Memory, Nature, Identity,’ is held at Lotus Van Art & Community Hub, located at 99 Nguyen Thi Thap Street in Tan My Ward through June 5.
It features works by more than 11 artists, including Vietnamese painters and Indonesian artists working across visual and experimental art forms.

Organizers said the exhibition was designed as a cross-cultural dialogue, blending traditional cultural references with contemporary artistic experimentation and reflections on ecology, spirituality, and human identity in modern society.
Vietnamese artists highlight local materials and cultural themes in their works, from depictions inspired by Cham culture and southern Vietnamese life to lacquer paintings combining layers of resin, gold, and silver to evoke what artists described as ‘sediments of time.’

Other works focus on environmental concerns and emotional introspection, including paintings using egg tempera and lacquer techniques to portray flowers, water, and natural landscapes in muted tones.

Indonesian artists contribute works ranging from surrealist-inspired paintings and multimedia experiments involving sound and music to watercolor depictions of heritage architecture such as Borobudur and Prambanan temples.
The exhibition also includes artist talks, workshops, guided tours for art students, and public exchange sessions aimed at strengthening artistic connections between Vietnam and Indonesia, organizers said.
