The fire and rescue division under the provincial Department of Public Security said it received an emergency report at 6:20 pm on Monday that the tourists were trapped by fast-rising waters in the ward.
They were identified as Vyatkin Anton Evgenyevich, 32, Vyatkina Olesya Sergeevna, 25, and Tsvetkova Lyudmila Lvovna, 62.
Lvovna was showing signs of severe exhaustion due to an underlying medical condition and was unable to move, according to the report.
The division immediately deployed a six-member task force with specialized gear to operate in deep flood conditions.
By 8:30 pm, the team had safely navigated strong currents to reach the three foreigners and moved them to higher ground.
Officers also coordinated with local medical personnel to provide on-site first aid for Lvovna and assisted the group in contacting their relatives, according to Khanh Hoa Online.
At the tourists’ request, they arranged a taxi to take them to a hotel in Nha Trang Ward.
The rescue division said its personnel remain on 24-hour standby, ready to respond to any natural disaster emergencies in the area.
