The dish received a rating of 4.5 stars from nearly 40,000 reviews, placing it ahead of other Vietnamese staples including ‘pho’ (Vietnamese noodle soup with beef or chicken), which ranked 15th with 4.3 stars, according to the list last updated on Saturday.
TasteAtlas described ‘banh mi’ with roasted pork as a traditional Vietnamese sandwich made with sliced roasted pork belly, typically served in a baguette with mayonnaise, pickled vegetables, cucumber, herbs, and optional chili and pâté.
Another Vietnamese dish, ‘bun bo Nam Bo’ (Southern Vietnamese beef noodle salad), ranked 14th with a 4.4-star rating.
The list also featured 16 other Vietnamese dishes, including ‘mi Quang’ (Quang-style noodles), ‘nuoc cham’ (Vietnamese fish sauce with chili peppers and garlic), and ‘bun cha Hanoi’ (grilled pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles), reflecting the country's strong presence in regional cuisine rankings.
TasteAtlas said its rankings were based on aggregated ratings from diners worldwide.
