Speaking to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Wednesday, an official from Binh Duong’s Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health confirmed that inspection teams began their work that morning, targeting C.P. Vietnam’s stores in Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An, Tan Uyen, and Ben Cat.

The inspections focus on verifying compliance with food safety regulations, including hygiene standards, product traceability, and storage practices.

They will also review documentation, examine on-site conditions, and determine whether all safety certifications remain valid.

Any violations identified during the inspections will be reported and dealt with in accordance with Vietnamese law, the official said.

According to the sub-department, the same nine outlets had previously been granted valid food safety certificates in 2023, with a three-year duration.

Inspection results are expected to be publicly released once the investigation concludes.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment had called on the Ministry of Public Security to investigate social media allegations accusing C.P. Vietnam of selling diseased pork and chicken at a retail outlet in southern Soc Trang Province.

The move was made following a widely circulated social media post by a user named Jonny Lieu on May 30.

The post alleged that a C.P. Fresh Shop in My Xuyen District, Soc Trang routinely sold pork and chicken products with signs of disease, such as foul odors, red spots, and abscesses.
