Vietnam's Can Tho launches direct daily flights to Da Lat

Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), a member of the Vietnam Airlines Group, launched the Can Tho-Da Lat route at Can Tho International Airport on Wednesday.

The airline will operate the route daily, said Nguyen Minh Tam, deputy director of VASCO.

VASCO will also increase the frequency of its Can Tho-Phu Quoc route from five to seven flights a week.

Tam said the new route was launched to meet growing demand for tourism and business travel between the two regions.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, vice-chairwoman of the Can Tho People's Committee, said the route would improve connections between Can Tho and Da Lat and help expand tourism markets.

The service will also allow localities and businesses to better tap their respective strengths and potential, she said.

The connection is expected to benefit not only tourism but also trade in agricultural products, products under Vietnam's One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, and local specialties.

It is expected to give businesses in the two localities more opportunities to seek partners and expand their markets.

Diep called on relevant agencies, airlines, travel companies, and service providers to promote the new route, stimulate demand, and improve passenger services.

She also called for stronger cooperation between Lam Dong Province, Can Tho City, and other localities in the region to develop tourism products tailored to different groups of travelers.
