Dang Van Hoa, chief of the Hue City Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, said on Friday afternoon that the city had instructed all localities and units to implement storm response measures.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned that Bualoi is a very strong storm with wide-reaching winds, likely to bring squalls and tornadoes before its direct impact.

Hue is expected to be among the hardest-hit areas.

Local authorities across Hue were ordered to review disaster scenarios, focusing on flooding, landslides, flash floods, and storm surge.

Farmers were urged to accelerate summer-autumn rice harvests, with 98.5 percent of the crop now collected.

The city reported 1,122 boats with more than 8,000 workers had returned to ports.

Authorities also stockpiled 20 metric tons of rice, thousands of instant noodle boxes, and bottled water for emergency relief.

To prepare for the worst-case scenario, Hue’s 40 communes and wards finalized detailed evacuation plans covering 10,132 households with 32,697 residents, mostly in coastal and lagoon areas.

Evacuations will be carried out depending on the storm’s track and intensity.
