Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa aims to elevate sea festival into international tourism brand

This year's festival, which kicked off on Friday, concluded under the theme 'Ocean Colors – Reaching International Heights.’

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Long Bien, vice-chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said the province would continue to innovate and expand the festival to strengthen its global appeal.

“Khanh Hoa will continuously renew the Sea Festival, developing it into a cultural hallmark and an internationally recognized marine tourism brand,” Bien said.

Bien also said that the province plans to host more international-scale events in the coming years to demonstrate its organizational capabilities while supporting its long-term goal of becoming a centrally-administered city.

Over the course of the festival, dozens of cultural and entertainment activities created a vibrant celebration of the province's natural beauty and local heritage, offering memorable experiences for both residents and visitors.

The three-day festival also treated locals and tourists to large-scale artistic performances by domestic and global beauty queens, artists, dance troupes, and performers.

In addition, the festival showcased a range of sporting events, including the VPS Cup Fareast 19R Open & International Regatta 2026 international sailing competition, the Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Nha Trang City Trail 2026, and a giant kite festival, among other outdoor activities.

While the main festival took place over three days, its accompanying events began on July 10 and will continue through August 10 at April 2 Square and various locations across Khanh Hoa Province.

Featuring a wide range of cultural, artistic, sporting, and tourism activities, the 2026 Khanh Hoa Sea Festival attracted nearly 800,000 domestic and international visitors.
