On a Sunday afternoon in Nha Trang, after swimming and visiting attractions in the central area, tourists can head north to Bai Tien to sample a variety of fresh snails.
Popular varieties include apple snails, spotted babylon snails and common periwinkle.
The dishes are prepared simply but remain popular, with the snails typically boiled with lemongrass, picked out with toothpicks and dipped in ginger fish sauce.

The best season for snails runs from February to September.
From October, when the snails enter their breeding season, they tend to be less tasty.
Fresh snails are available in Nha Trang almost year-round, with each eatery having its own ways of keeping the snails fresh and serving customers.
Prices range from VND20,000 to VND60,000 ($0.76-$2.28) per dish. A group of four can enjoy a filling meal for around VND200,000 ($7.6).

After the meal, visitors can join a sunset-viewing experience on Nguyen Co Thach Street, just a short walk away.
The area is gradually becoming a new favorite spot for young people and tourists visiting the coastal province.
Many young visitors dress casually and bring cameras or smartphones to capture the sunset over Nha Trang Bay and share the moments on social media.

To catch the full sunset experience, visitors are advised to arrive between 4:00 pm and around 6:30 pm.
After sunset, tourists can continue their evening with nighttime beach activities, stand-up paddleboarding on Nha Trang Bay and other experiences.
“The moment when the lights are dimmed to watch the sunset and the area begins to light up feels very relaxing. The atmosphere here is lively while still retaining the gentle charm of a coastal area,” said Bao Tin, a visitor from Hanoi.
