Vietnam’s Ninh Binh welcomes 230,000 international visitors during Lunar New Year holiday

With its former imperial capital charm and renowned scenic landscapes, Ninh Binh Province ranked among Vietnam’s top destinations for the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

According to a report from the provincial Department of Tourism, from February 14 to 19, the province received over 1.36 million arrivals, including nearly 230,000 international visitors. 

Total tourism revenue exceeded VND2.04 trillion (US$78 million). 

Popular attractions such as Trang An, Hoa Lu Ancient Town, and the Thung Nham Ecotourism Area were bustling throughout the holiday period. 

Meanwhile, Thung Ui, a newly emerging destination, also drew significant attention from travelers.

Nguyen Thi Yen Thuong, head of marketing at Thung Nham Ecotourism Area, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that visitor numbers surged in the first days of the new year.

The site welcomed more than 10,000 visitors on Thursday, the third day of Lunar New Year, with around 15,000 expected the following day.

During this year’s Lunar New Year, Thung Nham has introduced a new art program titled 'Songs of Nature,' featuring four artistic stations including 'The Cricket’s Adventure,' 'Wings to the Sun,' 'Rebirth,' and 'Dance of Flowers.'
