Vietnamese conglomerate Truong Hai Group Corporation (THACO) on Monday inaugurated three new factories in Da Nang with a combined investment of US$70 million, and shipped nearly 500 containers of goods to international markets.

The newly-inaugurated facilities belong to THACO INDUSTRIES, the group’s mechanical engineering and supporting industries arm.

One of the three is a household equipment factory, which spans 25,000 square meters and carried a price tag of $20 million.

The plant has an annual capacity of 150,000 fitness equipment products, 140,000 supermarket trolleys, 100,000 household appliances, 50,000 sets of high-end furniture, urban train seats, and various mechanical components.

Meanwhile, a specialized equipment facility covers 60,000 square meters, with a total investment of $30 million.

It was designed to produce 75,000 industrial and agricultural equipment units, specialized mechanical structures, and 23,000 metric tons of steel structures per year.

THACO expects the two factories to generate $60 million in export revenue in 2026, setting a target of $100 million in 2027.

Exports will be carried out both directly to international partners and indirectly through foreign-invested enterprises operating in Vietnam.

In addition, an automotive interiors plant was opened, spanning 7,000 square meters, with an investment of $20 million.

The facility has an annual capacity of over 100,000 product sets.

Its portfolio includes air-conditioning systems for passenger buses, floor mats, headliners, and other interior components.

The three new plants will significantly enhance its manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness, underscoring its determination to master heavy industrial production technologies and automotive component manufacturing.

They are expected to contribute to the development of a strategic mechanical engineering and supporting industry hub in the Chu Lai-Da Nang area, central Vietnam, meeting export standards and specialized customer requirements.

THACO INDUSTRIES plans to expand further through a 115-hectare mechanical and supporting industry center expansion project.

The firm also intends to invest in next-generation component factories and boost capabilities in mechanical-electronic equipment manufacturing and automation assembly.

Also, the company is conducting feasibility studies for a 797-hectare heavy industry production complex focused on oversized structural components, shipbuilding and offshore equipment manufacturing.
