Vietnam's VinFast debuts compact electric van priced from $10,980

Priced from VND285 million (US$10,980), the van is targeted at small businesses and urban delivery enterprises.

The EC Van, short for E-City Van, is VinFast’s first electric model in the domestic cargo van segment.

The EC Van measures 3,767mm in length, 1,680mm in width, and 1,790mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,520mm.

Designed for practicality in both urban and rural settings, the two-seater vehicle offers a rear cargo space of up to 2,600 liters and a payload capacity exceeding 600 kilograms.

It is powered by a 30kW electric motor producing 110Nm of torque, with a top speed of 75 km/h.

The EC Van is equipped with a 17kWh battery, providing a driving range of nearly 150km per full charge.

With DC fast-charging support up to 19.4kW, the battery can charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in just 42 minutes.

Drivers can also recharge overnight at home using a 3kW portable charger.

Safety features include front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, and advanced systems such as ABS (anti-lock braking), EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), TCS (traction control), and ESS (emergency stop signal).

The standard warranty covers five years or 130,000km, while the battery is covered for seven years or 160,000km.

Pre-orders for the EC Van will be accepted nationwide from 8:00 am on May 25 until May 30 through VinFast dealerships and logistics partner Xanh SM.

Customers who place deposits during this window will receive a VND10 million ($384) discount.

The first EC Van units are scheduled for delivery in November 2025.

Xanh SM also plans to use the EC Van for its delivery fleet in the coming time.
