Vinh Long police said on Monday that they had coordinated with relevant agencies to receive three Vietnamese citizens deported from the United States at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi before escorting them back to the province in accordance with regulations.
The individuals, aged between 36 and 60, were found by U.S. authorities to have illegally entered the country, resided unlawfully, or committed violations of local laws.
After receiving the deportees, Vinh Long police directed relevant units to work with local authorities to verify their identities, complete legal procedures, and hand them over to their families.
Authorities also assisted them in obtaining citizen identification cards and creating conditions for them to stabilize their lives.
According to Vinh Long police, most of the 44 deported citizens received by the province this year had violated laws in host countries, worked or resided illegally abroad, crossed borders unlawfully, or were lured into illegal migration through unauthorized labor brokerage networks.
Others had engaged in undocumented labor overseas or fallen victim to fraudulent labor brokers.
In some cases, the deportees were women marrying foreign nationals without completing proper legal procedures or living abroad in violation of local regulations.
Vinh Long authorities advised residents seeking to work, study, or marry abroad to proactively learn about and strictly comply with Vietnamese law as well as the laws of destination countries.
The authorities also warned residents not to trust illegal brokers or leave the country through illicit channels.
