The assessment was jointly hosted on Thursday by the Culture and Social Affairs Division of Cao Lanh Ward, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Dong Thap University, and Tan Thuan Dong Cooperative.

Representatives from the ward's Culture and Social Affairs Division and Women's Union briefed the vendors on the program's objectives and implementation plan.

Lecturers from Dong Thap University introduced the training format, assessment methods and placement test, and encouraged the vendors to participate in the training program.

The vendors were divided into 10 groups and assessed under the guidance of the university's lecturers and student volunteers.

The assessment covered common workplace scenarios, including greeting customers, introducing products, quoting prices, helping customers choose products, and communicating basic information in English.

The results will be used to assess the vendors' practical English proficiency and training needs, serving as a basis for developing an appropriate English training program.

The program is expected to help market vendors improve their communication skills and ability to introduce local products and serve visitors, especially international tourists.
