Weird snakehead fish caught in northern Vietnam

An unidentified fish whose head looks like that of a snake with body and tail looking like those of a loach has been caught and killed in a rural area in the mountainous northern province of Hoa Binh.

Three local men found this freshwater catfish species when they were watering sugar canes on Friday, a local newspaper says.

This 4.2kg fish was very ferocious. If someone touched it with a stick, it would bare its teeth and even bite the stick, said local people, adding that they have never seen such a fish before.

Dinh Cong Tuan, who later slaughtered the fish, said it has spleen, stomach, and tongue like a pig.

Bui Van Nguyen, one of three men catching the fish, said he found it under the mud.
