Where to watch fireworks, celebratory events in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 evening?

Following the morning grand parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the April 30 liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification, Ho Chi Minh City residents are preparing to enjoy a major fireworks display and a series of cultural events on Wednesday evening.

The city has announced that fireworks will be launched from 30 locations between 9:00 pm and 9:15 pm.

30 fireworks locations for the national celebration

According to the official plan, the city will stage fireworks at 30 locations, including two high-altitude displays:

* Entrance of the Saigon River Tunnel in Thu Duc City.

* Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Site in Cu Chi District.

The remaining 28 sites will feature low-altitude fireworks, including:

* Nga Ba Giong Martyrs Memorial in Hoc Mon District.

* Ben Noc Memorial Site in Thu Duc City.

* Rung Sac Martyrs Memorial in Can Gio District.

* An Phu Dong Military Zone Memorial House in District 12.

* Lang Le Cultural Park in Binh Chanh District.

* Vacant lot near the High-Tech Medical Zone in Binh Tan District.

* Rach Chiec Bridge (on a barge) in Thu Duc City.

* Reunification Palace area in District 1.

* Thanh Da Peninsula in Binh Thanh District.

* Thao Dien Urban Area (on a barge) in Thu Duc City.

* Landmark 81 riverside park in Binh Thanh District.

* Ba Son Bridge in District 1.

* Bach Dang Wharf area (with three barge-based launch points) in District 1.

* Tan Thuan Bridge in District 4.

* Northwest Industrial Zone in Cu Chi District.

For those heading to central locations to watch fireworks or attend other April 30 celebrations, recommended parking spots include:

* September 23rd Park (Zone B).

* Youth Cultural House.

* Tao Dan Park.

* Ho Chi Minh City University of Science campus at 227 Nguyen Van Cu Street, District 5 (for motorcycles and some personal cars)

In addition, major shopping centers such as Vincom Dong Khoi are expanding parking availability for visitors.

The city's youth volunteer force and other agencies will be on-site to assist with guidance and ensure public safety.

The Ho Chi Minh City traffic police department advises the public to use public transportation to attend the events whenever possible.

Featured events on the evening of April 30

In addition to the morning's military parade, Ho Chi Minh City is hosting a themed series of cultural programs titled 'Colors of Uncle Ho's City,' spanning several key sites including City Hall, Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, the Saigon Opera House, Bach Dang Wharf, parks in Thu Duc City, and along the Saigon River.

These events are part of the nationwide celebration and aim to foster a festive and uplifting atmosphere.

Highlights on Wednesday evening include a 3D mapping light show projected on the façade of the City Hall.

A fireworks display will be accompanied by a performance involving 10,500 drones over the Saigon River and along both its Thu Duc and District 1 banks.

The Saigon River will also host traditional southern folk music performances, known as don ca tai tu, a flower lantern boat parade, a cruise ship parade, and various water sports demonstrations.
