In a document recently submitted to the municipal People’s Committee, the company said the riverside road would stretch from Can Gio Bridge to Ben Suc Bridge on Provincial Road 15.
The project is designed with eight to 10 lanes and would span over 78 kilometers.
In addition, Masterise outlined plans for an LRT or tramway route extending 48.7 kilometers along the river corridor.
The proposed rail route would begin at the existing Mien Tay (Western) Bus Station, run along Ly Chieu Hoang Street and Vo Van Kiet Boulevard, pass Me Linh Square and Ton Duc Thang Street, cross the Ba Son Bridge area, and then continue along the riverbank.
Masterise said the proposals align with the city’s 2021–30 master plan, with a vision to 2050, which calls for expanding and completing key urban transport corridors to bolster public transit and ease congestion.
Both the riverside road and the Saigon River rail line are designated priority projects under the planning framework.
The integrated road-and-rail corridor would connect Beltways 2, 3, and 4 with major expressways and national highways, helping build a more interconnected urban transport network.
The developer said the projects are expected to spur urban, commercial, and service development, enhance the city’s riverfront landscape, and attract more domestic and international visitors.
Citing its capacity and experience, Masterise asked the municipal administration for approval to prepare detailed project proposals under a public-private partnership model, including build-transfer contracts or other mechanisms in line with city policy.
If the city has assigned other agencies or units to prepare the proposals, the company said it would register for the investor selection bidding process and seek guidance to ensure regulatory compliance.
Following Masterise’s submission, the municipal Department of Finance has issued a written request for feedback from relevant departments, localities, and units to compile a report for submission to the city’s administration for consideration.
To date, two enterprises have expressed interest in studying the development of a road and urban railway corridor along the Saigon River.
Earlier, during the 2024–25 period, Sun Group, another Vietnamese property developer, also submitted documents seeking permission to conduct surveys and study investment in the same projects.
