Province attracts talents with support of up to $16,800

The People’s Council of the central province of Quang Ngai has passed a resolution to adopt a preferential policy that is aimed at attracting high quality human resource from everywhere.

Under the policy, a financial support ranging from VND100 million to VND350 million (US$16,800) will be given to those intellectuals who are willing to come and work for the province on a long-term basis.

Accordingly, a professor agrees to work for the province will be offered the highest allowance level ($16,800), while associate professors and holders of PhD degree in general will be given VND300 million and VND250 million respectively.

PhDs in medicine, level-2 specialist doctors (obstetrics and gyneacology) will receive VND300 million, while level-2 specialist pharmacists, holders of Masters’ degree in medicine, level-1 specialist doctors, and resident physicians (obstetrics and gyneacology) will be offered VND250 million.

Allowances ranging from VND150 million to 230 million are intended to other subjects who have lower qualifications.

Meanwhile, a VND100 million support will be given to university graduates classified as ‘good’ or better, provided that their majors meet the province's demands.

In addition to giving such allowances, the authorities will also allocate land to intellectuals for living or pay house rent for them for five years.

The provincial authorities expects to spend VND150 billion ($7.2 million) on the policy, which will be carried out through support plans to be made specifically for each year.

This year’s plan will be publicized in May, and from next year annual support plans will be announced in January every year.

This preferential policy will help improve the local human resource quality, thereby contributing to boosting the province's social and economic development, the People's Council said.
