Widespread downpours might batter the city until Tuesday next week.
From Saturday night until the morning of Monday next week, several communes and wards are forecast to see moderate to heavy rain, with precipitation ranging from 80 to 180 mm and some areas exceeding 250 mm.
Mountainous communes may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall of 100 - 200 mm, with some locations surpassing 300 mm.
The rain might be accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and strong gusty winds.
Total rainfall for the entire event through Tuesday next week is projected at 200 - 400 mm in lowland areas, with some places surpassing 500 mm.
Meanwhile, the southern mountainous areas could see 250 - 500 mm, with some sites exceeding 700 mm.
The central weather center also warned that from Sunday to Wednesday next week, water levels on the rivers in the city may rise sharply.
With river flooding likely to persist for several days, authorities warned of a high risk of inundation in low-lying riverside areas, urban flooding, flash floods, and landslides on steep mountainous slopes across Da Nang.
The national weather agency had previously issued a warning of widespread heavy rain in central Vietnam.
From Saturday night, areas from southern Quang Tri to Da Nang, as well as eastern parts of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa Province, are expected to receive 60 - 120 mm of rain, with some locations surpassing 200 mm.
