Red Wings becomes the fifth Russian airline to launch direct routes to Khanh Hoa, joining Azur Air, Aeroflot, Ir Aero Airlines, and Ikar Airlines.

The inaugural flight was greeted with a ceremonial water cannon salute upon landing.

Representatives from the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Cam Ranh International Airport, and related agencies welcomed the passengers and crew with flowers and souvenirs, including ‘non la,’ traditional Vietnamese conical hats.

The Russian guests were also treated to traditional lion dance performances and live displays of Vietnamese musical instruments.

Starting in May 2025, Red Wings, in partnership with Fun and Sun Vietnam Co., Ltd., a Khanh Hoa-based travel operator, plans to operate 4-5 weekly flights from Russian cities including Kazan, Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, and Yekaterinburg to the province.

The airline expects to bring about 8,000 Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa each month.

The launch of these new direct routes is contributing to a steady increase in Russian arrivals. In April 2025 alone, Khanh Hoa welcomed over 31,000 Russian tourists, up 30.7 percent from March.

In total, over 80,000 Russian visitors arrived in the first four months of this year, representing a 2.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Khanh Hoa aims to receive around 11.8 million visitors in 2025, including 5.2 million international and 6.6 million domestic travelers, with total tourism revenue expected at VND60 trillion (US$2.3 billion).

Endowed with a 385-kilometer coastline – the longest of any province or city in Vietnam – Khanh Hoa is renowned for its pristine beaches and scenic bays, particularly Nha Trang Bay, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
