People living down alleys in Ho Chi Minh City are embellishing their neighborhoods to ring in the Lunar New Year, commonly known as Tet, which is in February.
Many streets and alleys in the city’s downtown areas have donned eye-catching Tet-themed decorations.
Households in Alley No. 153 on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in District 1 have finished embellishing the alleyway with artificial yellow apricot and peach blossom branches and a thatched hut five days ago.
Nguyen Thi Diep, a 73-year-old resident, said the decoration of the alley not only beautifies the neighborhood but also brings joy and memories to locals.
They are all excited and happy as the Tet atmosphere permeates all corners of the alley.
The embellishment of the alley ahead of Tet has been done for four consecutive years thanks to the contributions of residents there, Diep shared.
