Le Nhu Chinh, director of the Hue Green Park Center, said on Thursday that the gemstone ring, lost in Ba Thang Hai Park in Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City, has not yet been found.

After realizing the ring was missing, the couple sought help from locals near the park, who immediately joined the search.

The story quickly spread after social media pages in Hue shared the incident, including the couple's offer of a VND20 million ($762.7) reward for its return.

The couple emphasized the ring's emotional and sentimental value, describing it as a cherished keepsake.

The public response was overwhelming. Large crowds gathered at the park, combing through the grass with the flashlight function on their phones, carefully checking every blade of grass in hopes of locating the lost ring.

Many locals, especially young people, said their motivation to help was not the reward, but empathy for the distressed couple.

"We could feel the couple's anxiety and sadness after losing the ring which is so meaningful to them," shared Linh, a student from Hue University.

"While hanging out in the park, my friends and I saw what was happening and stayed a long time to comfort them.

"We searched every bush, hoping to find the ring."

Chinh said his company was aware of the incident and had sent staff to assist with the search.

"I've made it clear to my team: if the ring is found, it must be returned to its owner with no reward accepted," Chinh said.

As of Thursday morning, people were still coming to the park to look, but it hasn't been found yet, he stated.
