The river flows through Thuy Yen Thuong, Thuy Yen Ha, and Thuy Cam Villages.
Floodwaters have hit these villages, submerging houses and cutting off multiple roads.
Duy Nam, a resident of Thuy Yen Thuong Village, described how quickly the water rose overnight.
“In just one night, the water poured across our yard and reached the porch,” he recounted.
Nearby, the home of Chau Thanh has been isolated by the flooding.
“The path to my house is under more than half a metre of water, so vehicles can not get through,” he said.

“Flooding and landslides are common along the Bu Lu River during the rainy season. We’re very concerned, especially if the rain continues,” Thanh bemoaned.
Local residents attributed the rapid rise of the water levels on the river to prolonged heavy rain combined with a surge of water from upstream.
Several plots of farmland along the riverbank have also been submerged.
Elsewhere in Phu Loc Commune, persistent rain has led to localized flooding in low-lying areas, severing access along several roads.

Tran Van Minh Quan, chairman of the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune, said that local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have coordinated with the civil defense command to prepare emergency responses.
“We are keeping a close watch on the flooding and have prepared boats to evacuate residents if necessary,” Quan said.
