Anex Vietnam, Vietjet Air, and relevant partners held a welcome ceremony on Sunday morning for passengers on flight VJ2867 from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, which landed at Phu Quoc International Airport.
The flight is the first to bring Russian tourists to Phu Quoc for this year’s winter season.
Phu Quoc has become one of the leading destinations for both domestic and international travelers, said Ozkan Liman, operations director of Anex Vietnam.
Russian tourists are particularly fond of the island for its sunshine, sea, and beautiful white-sand beaches.
The destination offers visitors favorable conditions for enjoying extended holidays with family and friends.
Anex Vietnam plans to bring around 15,000 Russian tourists to Phu Quoc each month during the season.

The Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee said local tourism businesses had proactively established links with hotels, resorts, and entertainment facilities across the island, preparing a range of safe and comprehensive holiday experiences for international visitors.
Since the beginning of 2026, Phu Quoc has welcomed an estimated 8.5 million visitors, including nearly two million international tourists.
Tourism revenue during the period is estimated at more than VND45 trillion (US$1.73 billion).
