The Ho Chi Minh City unit of Vietnam’s railway operator will launch a new luxurious carriage in a train running on the Ho Chi Minh City-Phan Thiet route on Friday.
The new train car is to be put into operation in the SPT8 train which will serve passengers on Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), according to Saigon Railways.
The carriage’s highlights are 56 seats which can be converted into beds equipped with sockets for phone and computer charging.
The SPT8 train is set to depart from Saigon Station in Ho Chi Minh City at 7:53 am and to arrive at 11:27 am at Phan Thiet Railway Station in the south-central resort city of Phan Thiet, about 30 kilometers away from the famous coastal resort town of Mui Ne.
According to the railway operator, the train services passengers this Friday only.
Tickets can be purchased at local train stations or can be booked online at dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, and vietnamrailway.vn.
Additionally, the railway operator is also planning to put into operation a new sleeping car.
The cabin, featuring four environment-friendly composite berths, is equipped with LED lights and windows with high-quality sunshades, plus washing basins with infrared sensors.
Built with a hardened steel body frame, the train car utilizes shock absorbers and dampers from Japan to minimize noise and maximize smoothness when travelling, enhancing comfort for passengers.
