Spanning the Thuan An estuary, the Thuan An Cross-Sea Bridge is more than the longest bridge in central Vietnam. Stretching 2.36 kilometers in length and 20 meters in width, the structure has emerged as a distinctive cultural and tourism landmark in the central city of Hue.

The bridge adds a striking contemporary touch to the former imperial capital’s traditionally tranquil landscape. For travelers, it has quickly become a prime spot for sunrise watching, offering sweeping views of where Tam Giang Lagoon meets the vast East Sea. Beyond its architectural appeal, the bridge holds profound historical and social significance. For the first time in nearly 120 years, it reconnects the neighboring villages of Thai Duong Thuong Ha Giap and Thai Duong Thuong Thuong Giap, which were divided when the estuary opened and split the area more than a century ago. This landmark infrastructure project was officially opened to technical traffic in late April, marking a new chapter in the province’s transportation and tourism development.
