HCMC – Japan’s Sumitomo Forestry Group is exploring opportunities to expand its long-term investment in HCMC, with a particular focus on green sectors such as renewable energy, biofuels, carbon credit markets, and sustainable forestry.

HCMC - The northern mountainous province of Dien Bien has just approved the investment policy of a renewable energy project worth VND5.37 trillion.
Invested by Vinenergo Energy JSC, an arm of Vingroup, the Dien Bien 1 Power Plant project boasts a design capacity of 300MW, spanning approximately 509.47 hectares across Dien Bien Phu Ward and the communes of Na Son, Muong Lan, and Pu Nhi. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate annual output of 482,411 MWh, which will be integrated into the national grid via a newly constructed 220kV double-circuit transmission line spanning 25.65km. The comprehensive infrastructure includes a solar panel system, a transformer station and dedicated operational and planning zones. Vinenergo is scheduled to break ground on the project by the fourth quarter of 2026, with full commercial operations targeted for 12 months later.
