HCMC - Surprise, surprise. Seeing a heading "A Night of Romantic Music", albeit with "Romantic" in inverted commas, one would surely expect Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms and perhaps Mahler. Instead, on 26 May at the Saigon Opera House, we will hear Hummel, a rare Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens and Bruckner. No Beethoven and no Brahms at all.

HCMC - The HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) is organizing a two-night concert with the participation of leading violinist Bui Cong Duy and invited artists from the U.S. to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Consisting of five special concertos, the program will take place on the two nights of August 25 and 26. The first night of the concert begins with concerto Grosso for violin, piano, percussion and string Orchestra by the renowned artist Nguyen Manh Duy Linh. It is followed by the Double Concerto of Bui Cong Duy and Yi Wen Chao. The concert on August 25 ended with a double concerto for violin, cello and orchestra by composer Johannes Brahms, performed by Bui Cong Duy and Phan Do Phuc. On August 26, the spectators will enjoy the “Vietnam Four Seasons” concerto for violin and orchestra by composer Dang Hong Anh. His concerto "Vietnam’s Four Seasons" consists of four parts, namely Spring: Yellow Rice Harvest, Summer: Barcarolle - On the Boat to Pick the Lotus, Autumn: A Prayer to Buddha in the Temple, and Winter: The Dragon's Dance to welcome Tet. The concert will end with a concerto for violin, cello, and piano, performed by Ludwig van Beethoven, one of the greatest composers in musical history.
