HCMC – Development Investment Construction Joint Stock Corporation (HOSE: DIG) has been fined VND175 million and ordered to repay investors after using proceeds from a VND600 billion bond issue for purposes other than those disclosed to bondholders.

HCMC – Hoa Phat Group JSC (HOSE: HPG) aims to sell nearly 15 million tons of steel in 2026, up about 40% from the previous year and marking the highest annual target in the company's history.
The goal was announced by Pham Thi Kim Oanh, chief financial officer of HPG, at an investor meeting held in HCMC last weekend, reported local media. HPG sold 10.6 million tons of steel in 2025, surpassing the 10-million-ton mark for the first time. The group expects most of the additional volume this year to come from the Dung Quat 2 integrated steel complex as its production lines move into stable operation. Dung Quat 2 is expected to add three million to four million tons of annual hot-rolled coil (HRC) output. Hoa Phat currently supplies around 1.2 million tons of steel products each month, including HRC, construction steel, and high-grade steel. The company said demand for construction steel has been supported by investment in transportation infrastructure, housing, and construction projects across the country. The steelmaker sold 2.3 million tons of construction steel in the first five months of the year, with May continuing to post solid results. For 2026, Hoa Phat has set revenue and after-tax profit targets of VND210 trillion and VND22 trillion, respectively. In the first quarter, the company posted revenue of more than VND53.3 trillion and after-tax profit of VND9.06 trillion, up 40% and 170% from a year earlier. The performance enabled Hoa Phat to complete about 41% of its full-year profit target after one quarter. The group currently has crude steel production capacity of 16 million tons per year and plans to raise it to 18 million tons by 2027 through a new 700,000-ton electric arc furnace plant in Long An Province and the expansion of existing facilities. Closing the trading session today, June 15, HPG advanced 4.96% to VND24,350, with over 36.9 million shares changing hands. Foreign investors were net buyers of almost seven million HPG shares. The VN-Index rose 0.43% to 1,799.31 points, lifted by gains in securities, steel, and banking shares, but losses in Vingroup-related stocks kept the benchmark below the 1,800-point mark.
