HCMC – Le Quang Tung, a member of the Party Central Committee and secretary general of the National Assembly, has been assigned to serve as the secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

The appointment decision was announced on September 27 at the first congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee. Do Thanh Binh, who has been secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho City, is now reassigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs as permanent deputy minister. He, however, will continue overseeing the city’s Party congress until its conclusion. The Politburo decided that Tung would stop holding his roles in the National Assembly Party Committee and related posts in order to take up his new assignment as Party secretary of Can Tho City.
