At six in the morning, two days before Tet, the lights flicker on at Ba Hoa Market in HCMC, and the day begins not with a shout but with a murmur. HCMC - Tuoi Tre newspaper and Saigontourist Group will jointly organize a festival featuring Vietnamese beef and chicken noodle soup called Pho and other specialties in South Korean capital Seoul in September this year.
The Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 is intended to promote Pho, which is the country's rice-based culinary heritage. The festival will feature 80 stalls offering a variety of Pho and other well-known Vietnamese dishes. The event will showcase multiple Pho brands from Vietnam, alongside popular Pho brands in Seoul. There will be a business matching event, where Vietnamese and Korean businesses can meet and connect. Since 2016, Tuoi Tre newspaper has held Pho Day on December 12 each year. In 2023, the festival expanded internationally, with its inaugural event in Japan.
