HCMC – Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has proposed three strategic priorities for ASEAN as the bloc works toward realizing its 2045 Community Vision, calling on Southeast Asia to take a more proactive role in shaping the global order, become a center for innovation, and build a people-centered community in the digital age.

HCMC – Vietnam and Belarus have established a strategic partnership to strengthen cooperation in defense, trade, science, and other key areas.
Party General Secretary To Lam and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed a joint statement in Minsk on May 12, reported the Vietnam News Agency. The agreement aims to deepen collaboration through high-level exchanges and intergovernmental cooperation. The two sides also signed multiple documents covering defense, science and technology, justice, healthcare, culture, and public diplomacy. Vietnam and Belarus agreed to enhance defense cooperation through personnel training, defense industry development, and crime prevention. Economic cooperation was identified as a key focus, with both countries pledging to improve the effectiveness of their intergovernmental committee on trade and technical collaboration. The two sides are committed to supporting businesses and investors, expanding cooperation in logistics, digital economy, and infrastructure development. They will also leverage the Vietnam–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement and ASEAN ties to boost trade. Other areas of cooperation include education, labor, cybersecurity, environmental protection, and climate change. Vietnam and Belarus established diplomatic relations in 1992. Bilateral trade reached US$60 million in 2024, with US$20.9 million recorded in the first quarter of this year.
