HCMC - Work has started on a new road connecting two south-central provinces -- Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan -- and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The project's groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday, March 1, attended by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, and other high-ranking officials.The 56.9-kilometer road will run from National Highway 27C to Provincial Road 656 on the border between Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces.
The two-lane road will allow for a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour, occasionally reduced to 40 kilometers per hour in mountainous areas.
The project will require a total of VND1,930 billion, which will come from central and local budgets.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
The road will help fuel socioeconomic development in the mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh, according to the Khanh Hoa People's Committee.
