During the meeting, Kim highlighted Samsung Vietnam's growth from a small television factory in Ho Chi Minh City to a nationwide operation with a total investment of US$23.2 billion.

Samsung now operates manufacturing plants in Bac Ninh Province, Thai Nguyen Province, and Ho Chi Minh City, with business offices and a research and development center in Hanoi.

The company reported revenue of $62.5 billion in 2024, including $54.4 billion in exports — accounting for 14 percent of Vietnam's total export volume.

Beyond economic contributions, Samsung has emphasized corporate social responsibility, particularly in education and community programs.

"We are committed not only to investment and production, but also to developing the future generation through educational initiatives," Kim said.

Among its flagship projects is 'Solve for Tomorrow,' a science and technology competition for school students launched in Vietnam in 2019.

Initially limited to the north, the program has since expanded nationwide, attracting 480,000 students from 1,500 schools and generating over 7,500 entries.

In 2024, students from southern provinces performed strongly, with 13 out of 40 winning teams, including a top award for a team from Hau Giang Province.

The Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), another key initiative, offers IT training for high school and university students and has reached 12,000 participants since 2019.

Tuoi Tre is also running major community programs, including an annual scholarship scheme for underprivileged students, disaster relief, and the Green Vietnam sustainability campaign.

In addition, its Start-up Award initiative, held in partnership with Vietnam National University- Ho Chi Minh City, supports young entrepreneurs in the tech sector.

Leaders from both sides expressed hope that the meeting would lead to deeper cooperation in supporting Vietnam's long-term sustainable development.
