The delicate process of separating the remains from the surrounding soil was carried out with meticulous care and the utmost respect.
Once recovered, the remains were carefully cleaned to remove mud and soil before samples were collected for DNA testing.
The analysis is expected to support future identification efforts and help determine the identities of the fallen soldiers.
After the sampling process, specialized teams will organize the recovered remains, place them in coffins, and temporarily enshrine them at the traditional house within Le Thi Rieng Park.
The remains will be honored there with incense and memorial rites while awaiting the next stages of the identification and repatriation process.
