Rescue forces, along with local residents and tourists, discovered the turtle at around noon at Bai Sau Beach in Tam Thang Ward, according to initial reports.
The turtle was already dead when it was found.
Waves pushed the carcass onto the sand, with the body largely intact.
The incident drew attention from onlookers gathering at the site before authorities were notified.
Relevant agencies inspected the scene and removed the carcass, while the cause of death remains under investigation.
Experts say sea turtles can die after becoming entangled in fishing nets, colliding with vessels, ingesting plastic waste, or becoming exhausted during migration.
Similar incidents have previously been recorded in Vung Tau waters.
Most recently, a large sea turtle was found dead at Bai Sau Beach on Sunday.
Sea turtles, including the green turtle (Chelonia mydas), are listed as endangered and protected species under Vietnam’s Decree 64/2019.
