On Tuesday morning, Xi paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh — the great and eminent leader of the Vietnamese nation.

During their lifetimes, President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong tirelessly nurtured the deep Vietnam–China friendship as both comrades and brothers.

To demonstrate the special and close relationship between the two countries, at around 10:00 am, Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, leading their respective delegations, laid wreaths and paid respects to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi.

Xi also participated in people-to-people exchange activities, which align with the 2025 Vietnam–China Year of People-to-People Exchange and reflect the increasingly close cultural and social ties between the two nations as well as the frequency of interactions between their peoples in recent years.

Later, Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong held talks at the Presidential Palace.

Regarding the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the Tuesday edition of People's Daily—China’s most widely circulated newspaper and the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party—devoted its entire front page, page five, most of page two, and part of page three to extensive coverage of the visit.

This level of attention is notable and rare for such a prominent publication.

Particularly striking is page five, which includes various stories highlighting the deep friendship between the two countries, people-to-people exchange events, and meaningful, effective cooperation projects between China and Vietnam.
