Nguyen Minh Dong, director of the airport, said on Tuesday that the lost items were returned after being discovered during a post-landing clean-up on a Vietnam Airlines flight that had arrived from Ho Chi Minh City at around 2:00 pm on Monday.

A member of the cleaning staff found a black bag left behind on the aircraft.

Upon inspection, airport personnel discovered the bag contained a significant amount of Australian currency and four passports.

Efforts were promptly made to locate the rightful owner of the bag, and the items were returned to the international tourist.

The airport has submitted a recommendation for a special commendation for the staff member who found and reported the lost property.
